Cox wants to manage Mansfield Town
Eastwood Town boss, Paul Cox, has been linked with the vacant post at Blue Square Premier League squad Mansfield Town.
The former Notts County Player was quick to respond to the speculation:
“Mansfield are a massive club and one that should really be in the Football League,” he said
“The potential of it is huge because the club have terrific fans and if they were to achieve their potential, I’m sure they could get crowds of 7,000 to 8,000. It is steeped in history and when I was playing they had some really good players like George Foster and Simon Coleman.
“I would definitely consider it if I was approached, I would give it some serious thought. You would have to be interested in a job like that. But unless something is concrete and I get a call, it is all speculation and I have a job to do at Eastwood,” he added
Mansfield’s chairman Andy Perry has made it clear that he wants a manager in placw before the clubs next match against Weymouth.
However, Cox shouldn’t get his hopes up just yet, as fan favourite Richard Baker is tipped for the position according to the bookies.
